Steiner
This family’s story starts with Jacob Steiner and Margaret Schwein. Information about the family can be found at this Find A Grave site.
McKee
This information about this family begins with James McKee Sr. who was born about 1720 in Ireland. It is reported that he arrived in America with his brothers about 1735. We believe that he died about May 20, 1782 in Cumberland Co., PA, although no grave has been identified. He was the father of at least 3 children, William born about 1737, James Jr born 1739 (the subject of our story) and Rachel born in 1741. We have found no documents that provide any information about his wife. The Find A Grave information we have located starts with James Jr. and is found at this location.
Peters -Baker - Mathis
The Peters family in intersection of three families, Peters, Baker and Mathis. The Peters line in this story starts with Alfred John Peter who was born in 1830.
Alfred Peters Cemetery, Marydell, KT
Baker family line starts with Sarah Hargis who married Stephen Baker in 1848– I have made a link to a Stephen Baker at this memorial; however, I am not sure this is the correct Stephen Baker. After Stephen died, Sarah married John W. Been in 1861. John was the son of Asher Been and Elizabeth Brown. John’s half-brother James Sephus Been married Siota J. Baker, the daughter of Sarah Hargis and Stephen Baker – confusing – Yes.
Centenary Cemetery, Jefferson Twp., Ringgold Co., IA
Mathis – Alfred Eugene Peters married Beulah Baker. Buleah’s mother was Gertrude Mathis. Thus, the Mathis connection which starts, in our data, with Alfred Amos Mathis Jr.
