Peters Family

The Peters family is our latest adventure. Peters is my mother’s maiden name and thus I decided to research the origin of the family. Researching this family has been very difficult. I had intended to trace the lineage back to Europe or to American Natives. However, I was only able to trace back to Virginia, Kentucky and South Carolina and the early 1800s. My grandmother on my mother’s side was a Baker. Others have done considerable work on this line which is connected through marriage to Nolf (Nulph) and Flick with connections to Eastern Pennsylvania in the early 1700s.

I have found good documentation on the Baker family dating back to the early 1800 in North Carolina. The Peters family data starts in the 1830s with Alfred John Peters who was born in Virginia but lived most of his life in Kentucky.
