About the McKee Family

The history of this family dates back to James McKee Sr. and his arrival in America in the 1730s. We have not been able to validate the name of his wife and thus none is listed. We do know that he was the father of three children, William, Rachel and James Jr., the primary focus of this discussion.

Most historians believe that all or nearly all of the McKee’s found in the British colonies of America were the decedents of four brothers. So, while we often say that our family is not related to famous Alexander McKee who was a British Indian Agent, it is most likely that they were related. However, I have not found the link. But then again, I have not looked very hard.

99% of the material provided here for this family is connected directly the James McKee Jr. and Susan Nesbit.

The text material is divided into generations. As of this date, (2022) there are seven generations described. The generations are provided as a downloadable pdf.

The entire text can be provided in two serial bound books with a total 800+ page, available for purchase.
